It was a sad moment for the deportees at their arrival into the country they neglected for many years and traveled to a land assumed to be flowing with milk and honey without one working for the milk and honey juice of the bee.
The sadden repatriated deportees, who arrived at about 6.30a.m, on Thursday through the Nigeria Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos city, Nigeria were sent back, repatriated home from European countries of Belgium, Switzerland, Hungary, Germany, Iceland and Austria.
The Nigerians deportees were thirty-four in numbers from European countries for immigration-related offences.
It was further disclosed by The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that these Nigerians deportees comprised 32 males and two females, and were brought back in a chartered Airblue Panorama aircraft.
DSP Joseph Alabi, the spokesman of the Lagos Airport Police Command, confirmed the development to pressmen and disclosed that “this morning, we received 34 Nigerians who were brought back from Europe. They were made up of 32 males and two females. ”
He said all the deportees were alleged to have committed immigration-related offences in their host countries.
The returned Nigerians deportees were welcomed back home like the prodigal sons by personnels of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the country’s Police force.
It was further disclosed by newsmen that all the deportees were profiled, scrutinized by relevant security agencies and they were confirmed safe allowed to depart to their various destinations, which was their initial rejected home abandoned now the corner stone.
