It is critical to known that depression coupled with psychological trauma could lead to untimely death and could also prompt the victim to commit suicide.
Today in Nasarawa state, Nigeria, Sgt. Thomas Agada, a police officer has committed suicide after shooting his wife and house maid.
This was confirmed by the Nasarawa State Police Command that the perplexed unforeseeable incident happened in the early hours of Sunday 11 June 2017 at Masaka in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, Nigeria.
The Nasarawa State Police Command’s public spokesman, Mr. Kennedy Idirisu, disclosed this to newsmen in Lafia the state capital of Nasarawa that the late Sgt. Thomas Agada served at the Police command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), but Sgt. Thomas Agada resided at Masaka in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa, where the Sgt. Thomas committed suicide after he shot his wife and house maid.
Mr. Kennedy Idirisu further disclosed to newsmen that before the Sgt. Thomas killing himself, the shot and injured his wife and house maid at their shop around De Memories Hotel in Masaka in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa.
It was further disclosed that the deceased wife and maid were sustained severe injuries but currently receiving treatment at the Asokoro General Hospital in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Mr. Kennedy Idirisu further quoted as follows, “We cannot say for sure now what could have led to the dastardly act but we believe that the wife, currently being treated would be of great help to our investigation, once she stabilizes.”
The circumstances behind the incident is yet to be unraveled by the police command and that investigation had begun to ascertain the motive behind the shooting of his wife and house maid before he committed suicide.
