FOF, foundation disburses N10 million educational scholarships

The educational pursuit of the impecunious youths in the Delta State got a financial boost when the Deputy Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Friday Osanebi through Friday Osanebi Foundation (FOF), awarded over 10million educational scholarships to students in Delta State.

The foundation also promise the teeming youth that the foundation will continue and promise not to derail in the annual educational scholarship programme to the people of the state particularly the youth.

The scholarship gladdens the heart of the impecunious students who are thinking about how to pay their school fees due to lack of fund.

These youth of student expressed their joy as a beneficiaries that some of their peers ‘awardees’ who came into Asaba, Delta state from far and near to receive cheques for the educational scholarship fund valued at N100,000 per beneficiary and their joy knew no bounds for the academy year.

Proverbially it is been said half bread is better than none, as the foundation counted the number of the youths that would be receiving the educational scholarship numbering from 1 to 100 students selected from the all the nooks and crannies of the Delta State Local Government Areas, North senatorial district of Delat state were enlisted last year as beneficiaries of the Friday Osanebi Foundation’s Annual Educational Fund at the launch of the programme after a rigorous examination organized by the Friday Osanebi Foundation (FOF).

The youth awardees that receives the scholarship when given a specially focus of selection from post primary and tertiary institutions in the country and they will be put on annual basis of receiving N100, 000 each so long as they maintain good excellent academic records, discipline standards in their various schools and institutions of studies.

The event witnessed special encouragement and inspiring speech from the Delta North, PDP Chairman, Mr. Moses Iduh and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Affairs, Mr. Jerry Ehiwario, commended and appreciated the pioneer of the educational scholarship programme, the Deputy Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Friday Osanebi for the scholarships, pinpointing that the scheme was borne out of the need to ensure a better and prosperous Delta State and the ensure that the youths are given every opportunity to acquire a quality education without hipcups.

The stage of presentation of the N10 million worth educational scholarship, which is second in the series, the founder of the foundation, Mr. Friday Osanebi, while presenting the cheque addressing the beneficiaries and participants as follows:

“My indulgence in scholarship and philanthropic gestures was borne out of my long passion and desire to touch lives in line with biblical teachings that a giver never lacks. So long as God continues to bless me, my commitment for the care of the needy will never cease.

“My background made me to understand what it means for one to be without money, especially a brilliant child with lots of dreams but no fund to actualize such dreams.

“Available indices confirm that no youth involved in cultism ever lived beyond 45 years.”

The foundation further urges the beneficiaries to ensure they maintain excellent academic records and impact their community positive and be patriotic in the promotion of Nigeria dignity among their peers in their various schools and institutions of studies and also flee from cultism.
