The Navy in exercising its corporate social responsibility enjoys concrete secured ground in the area of hospitality and humanitarian services to their hosting community.
In Oghara community, riverside area of Delta state enjoys humanitarian services rendered by the Nigerian Naval Logistics Command Headquarters, Oghara, Delta State, in discharging its corporate social responsibility (CSR) to its host Oghara community, the Naval personnel medical team treated members of the host community for malaria, de-worming of children, laboratory tests and distribution of mosquito nets and lot more.
The Flag Officer Commanding, Rear Admiral Belgory Ibe-Enwo further disclosed that, “The exercise is to further strengthen the harmonious and amicable relationship between the military and the civilians in the community.
“The peoples’ response is very positive. The turn up is good and we hope the next time it will be organised, more people will turn up.”
“The programme provides free medical tests and care for the rural people and it is not the first by the Nigerian Navy. While it is done annually in the Navy, this is, however, the maiden edition in Oghara and environs. We aim to reduce diseases in our local communities and improve the health care in the rural areas.
The people of the community were urged to always report any criminal activities to the relevant authority in order to secure lives and property.
