Governor Aminu Tambuwal approves 212.9 million Bursary and Scholarship for Students Studying Abroad

The Sokoto State Government under the administration of Governor Aminu Tambuwal, has approved over N212 million for the payment of bursary entitlements to students studying in Niger Republic, Uganda and Republic of Sudan

Sokoto State Government spokesman to the state Governor, Mallam Imam Imam, disclosed that a special committee had been set up to verify and settle all issues relating to payment of bursary/scholarship to Sokoto State students in various institutions of higher learning across Nigeria and abroad.

The spokesman, Malam Imam Imam gave a breakdown of the figure shows that N163,400,000 had been released for payment of students in Sudan while those in Uganda would get N26,840,000 respectively. While students in Republic of Niger would get N22,676,700 had been released for their entitlement.

The Sokoto State Government spokesman to the state Governor Aminu Tambuwal, Mallam Imam Imam further stated that “For State students of other foreign tertiary institutions, payment is being worked out by the State Government, and disbursement will commence as soon as issues related with forex acquisition has been sorted out,”.

While for settlement of bursary and scholarship for students in various higher learning institutes in Nigeria would be carter for, which the State Government of Governor Aminu Tambuwal had approved to establishment of a special Committee that will “ensure effective settlement of all the outstanding payments to Tertiary Institutions in the country.”
